If you tell a joke in the forest but nobody laughs, is it still a joke?

If you're like me and you've taken a couple of days off next week to get a week and a halfs worth of "home time" then you'll also be wondering what to do with the kids for the next week or so?

Nu Metro Home Entertainment has recently released some great kids DVDs. Here are three of the cleverest and funniest animated DVDs to keep the kids (and adults) entertained this Easter weekend!

How to Train Your Dragon

A Dreamworks production, this is the touching story of a Viking named Hiccup and a ferocious dragon named Toothless who defy tradition and make friends with each other in a world where humans and dragons are deadly enemies.

There is lots of action, bravery and heroics as Hiccup and Toothless have to fight to save their worlds. A delightful action-filled movie for both boys and girls.

Megamind

Described as mega funny, Megamind is a whole new twist on the traditional superhero movies.

Megamind (Will Ferrell) is a Supervillian whose dream is realised when he overthrows Metro Man (Brad Pitt) to take control of Metro City.

But there's a new villian on the block and he's causing chaos in the city. The world's biggest "mind" and his mega-cute little sidekick Minion have to save the day. Full of awesome animation and humour that will appeal to everyone from the age of six to sixty-six, it's my eight-year old daughter's favourite movie of 2011.

Open Season 3

The lovable furry forest friends are back! This time the acion takes place in a Big Top circus! The story revolves around Boog, who decides to take a trip on his own after all his buddies back out of their annual boys-only holiday.

When Boog comes across a circus, he ends up switching places with a circus bear - with hilarious results. But the circus is soon on its way to Russia with Boog trapped on board. Will his friends be able to rescue him?

You'll have to get the DVD to find out...

Enjoy and Happy Easter Weekend!

I will be drowning myself in Cadbury's Creme Eggs!
